黃嘉祥早年獲得 “ELLE雜誌“、“Ferragamo”世界年輕設計師選拔的獎項，參與Ferragamo設計的作品現於佛羅倫斯永久收藏。得到這些奬項後， 便隻身赴美國紐約學習藝術課程與芭蕾。面對本土與國際文化的交會，服裝設計作品中皆流露出細膩的台灣傳統文化蘊涵。 2000年首創將花布運用至高級時裝中，創造全球風靡台灣花布的「台灣時尚奇蹟」。2004年，黃嘉祥以自己的英文名字「Jasper Huang」創了自己的服飾品牌。他從台灣文化找出經典元素，並運用在服裝的設計中。「Jasper Huang」不安於傳統元素既有框架，以大膽鮮明的用色、多元異材質的接合，熔鑄傳統台灣的文化語彙與前衛的時尚精神，極具表現張力。 除了定期推出自有品的服裝系列外，也是國內時裝設計界展演、藝文創作、藝人演場會服裝設計的常客，同時還經常擔任各大服裝競賽的評審。2009年黃嘉祥更是獲得國際成衣聯盟服裝設計競賽最佳布料獎，是台灣第一位獲得此項殊榮的設計師。 Jasper Huang (Huang Jia-Xiang )has won champion for young talent fashion design competition for ELLE magazine in year 2000. He was selected as youth design by Ferragamo in 2001, and his work is a permanent collection at the Firenze Palace now. After winning these prizes, he alone went for art and ballet classes in New York, USA. Steeped in local and global culture in his early life, Jasper’s work tends to radiate a delicate sense of traditional Taiwanese connotation. Jasper Huang is the first designer who applies Taiwanese embroidery pattern into high fashion design, and has successfully cause the fashion world be so crazy and pursuing such pattern in year 2000. Jasper established his own brand “Jasper Huang” in 2004 . He masters in applying traditional Taiwanese classics into modern outlook. Jasper’s own brand “Jasper Huang” is best known for his unconventionality and non-stop seeking for vivid color and mergence of multi-material. He masters in applying traditional Taiwanese classics into modern fashion spirit with an expressive method. Except for launching regular collection of his own, Jasper is also a frequent in major local fashion shows and artistic gallery. He is also invited to design the costume of pop song singer, and judge the major fashion petition frequently. In the year of 2009, Jasper Huang won "Best way of working with fabric" award in the competition of International Apparel Federation, IAF. He is the first Taiwanese designer who won such prize.
